Randy Appears on the 700 Club

(Nashville, Tennessee…) – December 8, 2008 – Randy Owen, who is receiving rave reviews on his debut solo album, One On One, and his "Born Country" memoir, recently sat down with the popular CBN personality Scott Ross to discuss his life, his career and his faith for The 700 Club. The episode is scheduled to air nationally this Friday, December 12, 2008.
Ross, whose unique interviewing style gets people talking candidly about sensitive subjects, dug deep as Randy elaborated on many of the topics he wrote about in "Born Country." He opened up about growing up in poverty in Northeast Alabama, dealing with the meteoric rise of the legendary country group Alabama, the depression that followed the untimely death of his father, his work with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, and his new beginning as a solo artist.
The two chatted on Randy's farm, Tennessee River Music, which sits on land his family share-cropped outside Ft. Payne, Alabama. Following the sit-down interview, they walked pastures and talked about Randy's nationally-renowned Hereford and Angus cattle breeding operations. The interview wrapped with the two sitting on the porch of Randy's log cabin and him singing an acoustic version of "Pray Me Back" from One On One.
The 700 Club airs weekdays from The Christian Broadcasting Network's (CBN) broadcast facilities in Virginia Beach, Virginia. The show is a mix of news and commentary, interviews, feature stories, and Christian ministry. Seen in 95 percent of the television markets across the United States, the program is carried on ABC Family Channel cable network, FamilyNet, Trinity Broadcasting Network, and numerous U.S. television stations.
