Randy's In Hixson for Book Signing
Randy Owen, lead singer, principal songwriter and the face of the legendary group Alabama just released his debut solo album, One On One... and his "Born Country How Faith, Family, and Music Brought Me Home" memoir.
Owen will be in Chattanooga for a book signing Nov. 22 at Books-A-Million on Hwy. 153 in Hixson from 3 pm to 5 pm.
Of course the world-famous Alabama from Ft. Payne, Ala. officially "retired" several years ago. But Owen wasn't ready to give up on the business.
He was quoted saying, "As long as God helps me and the people give me the opportunity, I want to write and sing music as long as I live and continue the work that I do to help kids at St. Jude (Children's Research Hospital)," he said. "That's something really important to me, that I use the talent God gave me to make a difference in people's lives. I've done that my whole career, and I feel like with a little success with new music I can do better and do more of it."
